3 ways you can combine a corporate job with startups for a life of purpose, passion, and potential life-changing outcomes by James Green
With record numbers of companies launching over the last 18 months, thousands of professionals are joining the Great Resignation and starting their own businesses leaving them from their business success. But a career change isn’t for everyone. By the time many people feel they know enough to go it alone instead of having business networking, they already carry responsibilities and overheads, which often put entrepreneurship out of reach.
So, as a senior professional, how else can you inject passion and purpose into your working life? Are there opportunities for intrapreneurship? Can you launch a side gig? Can you advise other up-and-coming businesses? Where do you find them? Can you invest?
James Green has been investing, advising, and launching startups for more than a decade. He owns a stake in more than 80 companies and is one of three cofounders of Singapore-based venture builder and fund, DQventures. Between them, DQ’s founders have launched, bought, invested in, or sold nearly 100 companies, with exits of up to $100m.
Whether you’re interested in advising, investing in, or launching a startup, James will share lessons learned over ten years of active entrepreneurship and investing. He’ll explain how to mitigate the risk of failure and how to maximise the chances of a life-changing outcome.
