The Power of Pause: Stepping back to move forward by Chris Robb
Does it feel like the treadmill just got even faster as you scramble to adjust to life in 2022? Are you constantly on fast-forward to the extent that you seldom get to press pause?
Imagine a business that scales from zero to 60,000 customers in a few months and then they all turn up on the same day. A workforce that scales from 30 to 5,000 and gets deployed within a few hours across an outdoor office that stretches across a major city. The front door HAS to open on time as you are being watched LIVE around the world with huge reputational, liability and commercial risk an integral part of the job.
Think of the Singapore Marathon with those 60,000 customers running and where there are sometimes life and death situations … it may seem that it’s impossible to pause in such circumstances. During “The Power of Pause” international speaker and author, Chris Robb, will show you that there is ALWAYS time to pause before making your decision. Chris will share practical examples and tips of how your personal wellbeing and business decisions can be enhanced by recognising the moments to pause.
Join him on his journey from growing up poor on a farm in Zimbabwe in the midst of an independence war to being at the helm of events for over one million people and now running a global industry body. Program a pause into your schedule on June 14. You are sure to walk away with some powerful insights and actions.
By joining this session, you’ll learn real life examples and case studies of how applying the Power of Pause, even under extreme pressure, can positively impact the quality and outcomes of both personal and business decisions.
About the speaker: Chris Robb
Chris’s life reads like a novel. His amazing journey has allowed him to impact the lives of millions of people by creating and delivering mass sports events like the 60,000 runner Singapore Marathon. There have been countless highlights, like working on the Sydney Olympics, but Chris came from humble beginnings, growing up poor on a farm in Zimbabwe in the midst of an independence war.
His first business was started with a few thousand dollars and grew into a multi-million-dollar international company which he sold to IRONMAN. He now runs a global industry organisation, Mass Participation World, that helps facilitate Collaboration, Advocacy, Research and Education.
Chris’s belief is that our greatest opportunities to grow and learn come from times of extreme pressure – “disasters”, that are in fact gifts. He is passionate about sport and the outdoors and lives in Bali with his wife Tet and son Sam.
